Artist's Statement: This location 'Bayswater Beach' is near my home. A fabulous walking beach, wide and sandy. The sound of surf and the solitude of being by the ocean is special. A 'Happy Place' for many local residents, me included.

Artist's Statement: The Bay of Fundy in unique in this world with tidal shifts of up to 50 vertical feet in some locations. This amounts to 160 Billion tonnes of water twice a day. Those are the numbers, but this place and many more on the bay are captivating and and mystical as we sit and enjoy the transformation daily from bare sands, islands, rock walls into the active ocean before our very eyes. One of our best kept secrets in Nova Scotia. This is the place where Pangaea (Super Continent) split some 160 million years ago to create the continents of our current world. You can sense the history of our planet as we explore this coast line.

Artist's Statement: It is my desire to employ different materials, scale and processes in my work and are the evidence of an artist always taking risks  searching for that connection , that one "true" moment between myself ,  subject and you the viewer.  The openness , immediacy and sensitivity of my hand while simultaneously rendering a likeness creates complex fluid personages that reflect the emotional and psychological complexity common to each of us, flawed, compassionate, vulnerable and that which makes us most human.

Artist's Statement: There's just something about my Grandmother's teacups and sunshine on a Sunday afternoon. It instantly conjures up memories of my grandmother and my aunts solving the problems of everyday life or laughing uncontrollably over some silly antics from their younger days. Of course, none of this ever happened without some cake or cookies and a pot of tea that they drank from these dainty cups. The creation of this painting just made me happy, remembering my favourite grownups during childhood and simpler times.

Artist's Statement: The paper surface is dotted with drips, splatters, stains and shaking with brush strokes. The humid yellow haze is backed by the suns harsh white glare. The sculler adjusts sweat band, grip and sun glasses before pushing off for a row to the horizon and back. This is what rowing feels like.

Artist's Statement: A solidary fox hunts near my home on a quiet moonlit winter night. I painted this moment using Neutral Tint modifed with Blue, Raw Umber and Viridian. The underlying "two toned wash" recede and merge with the distant treeline; the cast shadow brush strokes follow the topography. The dark accents of burnt sienna and french ultramarine blue near the fox snout reinforce the center of interest.

Artist's Statement: I tried to recreate the atmosphere of a local music concert which has smaller gatherings in prairies. This was performed by Roberta Nichol a local singer artist at local music shop Sawchyn Guitars(Regina) almost a decade ago!
