The jury for Canadian Waters Online Exhibition 2026 comprises three Elected CSPWC Members.


Helen

Helen Shideler, CSPWC, SCA, CPHR

Helen is a Canadian artist based in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, painting primarily in oils, watercolour and acrylics. She is an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC/SCPA) and the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA).

Over the years, Helen has developed a distinctive style. She works to capture images that resonate with her by creating detailed and colourful paintings while constantly striving to hold herself to the highest standards.

Helen's work is included in numerous private and corporate collections in Canada and in the US. An active participant in regional and national art events and organizations, her work has been included in numerous invitational and juried shows across Canada and internationally online. This participation has presented her with numerous exhibition opportunities, recognition and awards, including Best in Show. Helen has participated in Plein Air festivals and Expos in Canada and the United States over the past 15 years.

Margaret

Margaret Roseman, CSPWC, SCA, TWS

Margaret is an acclaimed water-media artist, juror and educator working in watercolour and acrylic. She has taught across North America, Europe and the Caribbean. 

The Founding Director of the Toronto Watercolour Society (TWS), she holds signature status with the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (CSPWC/SCPA) and the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA) and is an active member of the International Watercolor Society (IWS Canada). Her award-winning work appears in international collections and publications. Recognized for her contributions to the arts community, she has received the Canadian Confederation Medal and two Ontario Volunteer Service Awards and is profiled in Canadian Who’s Who. 

Margaret’s paintings interpret rather than record, blending abstraction and representation to evoke nature and everyday life through expressive colour, confident marks and a deeply personal sense of connection.


Gord

Gord Jones, CSPWC, SCA

Gord Jones is a watercolour artist residing in the Algonquin Highlands, where he operates his studio, White Pine Studio. He is an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC) and the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA). Gord believes that design is king—when the design is strong, the watercolour medium allows for maximum impact through its wide variety of expressive techniques. He enjoys sharing his knowledge through regular online demonstrations and workshops for art groups across Ontario. Gord has also taught workshops at the Haliburton School of Art + Design and Loyalist College.
